Check image processing has been around for a decade, but it was dominated by very large service organizations servicing large corporate clients. Recent innovations in desktop check scanner technologies, unveiled a low cost check and small document capture market for low volume market segments. A single desktop Check and Small Document (CSD) scanner retails for under $10,000 and permits the capture of up to 10,000 items a day.
CSD equipment not only captures the back and front (duplex scanning) of each item, but also captures the MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) line encoded in the item, thus providing safe, automatic indexing. Additional indexing, if needed, may be performed by a combination of: OCR of selected typed zones on the item, Image assisted keyboard data entry, ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) of handwritten text, including CAR (Courtesy Amount Recognition), and bar code recognition.
Capturing checks, deposit slips, tickets, coupons, bills, or any other small size documents and publishing them on CD offers a myriad of advantages, and opens the door to new competitive subproducts, including electronic statements, with searchable and printable miniatures of each side of the item, and immediate, on line access to check images for customer service and fraud prevention.

Service Options - Check2CD
Off-site capture: Your items are shipped to our facility. We will perform all scanning, indexing, QC and publishing at our plant and regularly deliver finished, retrievable CD ROMs to you. We offer a 24 hours a day hotline to satisfy any request to pull an item not yet delivered in CD format.
On-site capture: We post equipment and staff at your facility for the duration of the capture process. Only electronic images, not original items, leave your premises for the purpose of completing the processing and publishing cycle. Very strict QC and confidentiality procedures are enforced.
Facilities Management: The entire process is performed at your site. No paper or electronic images ever leave your premises. Options available include: Our staff or yours, lease, rent, purchase, buy-back, and obsolescence guarantee.
Contract-to-Own: We perform part of the conversion as a combination of any of the above options. Once the production line has been setup and proven to work to perfection to satisfy your needs based on the nature of your documents, you may elect to purchase a scaled-down or identical system. The system consists of hardware, software, documentation and training
